Share Feature Now Available In The Community Page

We are pleased to announce that the Share Feature is now also available in the Community Page.

i-Emote now makes it even easier to share your comments. The Share Feature that we recently introduced had only been accessible on your Home page. We are very pleased to announce that this feature is now also accessible from the Community page on any comment which you authored.

Go to your Home page or the Community page and click the share icon (it looks like an email) for the comment that you want to share. Clicking the share icon will expose the link that you can copy and paste into an email or any other applications such as Facebook or Twitter, for example. When someone clicks on the link they will be able to view the comment, even if they are not an i-Emote member.

Even the news articles and the videos that are a part of your comments will be viewable by anyone with whom you share your links with.

Please leave your feedback which will be greatly appreciated. It will help shape the future of i-Emote which is, after all, all about its members.

Sincerely,
The Team

Improved RSS/ATOM Feed Aggregator

We have made changes to the RSS/ATOM Feed Aggregator.

These changes address the occasional inability to parse news feeds syndicated using the various ATOM protocols. When this would occur members would see the message 'The URL doesn't appear to point to a valid news feed. Please enter a valid URL' in the Rss/Atom Feeds List page as a result of their submitting a URL pointing to an ATOM syndication.

With these changes in place we are now confident that i-Emote fully supports all the current implementations of both RSS and ATOM syndication.

These changes will also allow us to quickly respond to any future changes made to either protocol.

Sincerely,
The Team

The Community Page

We are very pleased to announce that we have added a new feature called the Community Page. The Community Page is where you can view and reply to up to 1,000 of the most recent comments from the entire i-Emote community.

We are currently considering how best to integrate this page but for the time being it is available by clicking the Community link on the main menu and is the default page where you are directed to after logging in to i-Emote.

The two options we are considering for the Community Page are the following:
  1. Replace the Home Page with the Community Page thereby making it the default landing page. The Home Page would be renamed and would be made available by adding a new option to the right sidebar.
  2. Fold the functionality of the Community Page into the Home Page and provide a toggle to switch between the 2 different views.
Of the two options we are leaning towards the first because we believe that it would provide the greatest benefit to all members.

Leave your feedback on this at our suggestion page at http://i-emote.appspot.com/contact.groovy.

Sincerely,
The Team
